Commentary categories - textual commentaries

If Textual Commentaries are sufficiently "different" as to have their own section in the Textual Variants guide section, why aren't they available as a separate type in the Commentaries guide section? My experience with Logos is to check and double check data so I appreciate multiple ways to access the same data.
